MBABANE:Inspector Xolile Fortunate Kunene, a senior police officer based at the Hhohho Regional Headquaters(RHQ) under the Prevention of Organized Crime Act(POCA) Department, is an alleged ‘facata’, targeting businesspeople in the country while manipulating the law to collect bribes.

This Swaziland News has documented financial transactions and confirmation from businesspeople who complained that, the senior cop has been thretening to arrest them under POCA if they don’t pay bribes.

But while this publication was investigating Kunene, National Commissioner Vusi Masango transferred her from the Regional Headquarters to Oshoek Border General Duty(GD), it remains unclear if the victims of the alleged extortion reported her to the National Commissioner.

The memo transferring Kunene and other officers was released by the National Commissioner of Police on Friday but, Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson, declined to comment about the matter.

On another note, Inspector Kunene allegedly collected over one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) in the last two(2) months, she was targeting wealthy businesspeople thretening to arrest them using POCA.

One of the businesspeople who was paying the money in installments, subsequently reported the senior police officer to this publication and shared the proof of payment as evidence.

While other members of the ‘facata’ syndicate were arrested after the National Commissioner publicly declared that, he will clean the country and throw all ‘facata’ alleged criminals behind bars, Kunene was not arrested but transferred to Oshoek.
