MBABANE:Stanley Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Eswatini National Association of Arts and Culture(ENAAC) has confirmed dissolving the Association of Eswatini Christian Artists of Eswatini(ECASWA) amid concerns suggesting that, the organization was led by Mzwakhe Myeni who was implicated in an audit report and, accused of stealing gospel artists’ monies.
But the CEO told the editor of this Swaziland News Zweli Martin Dlamini on Monday afternoon that, the ACASWA Executive Committee was not ‘basically’ dissolved by him instead, it was the Constitution of the organization that restricted anyone accused of stealing funds from leading the organization.
As a result, Dlamini said, he decided to implement resolutions of the organization based on the Constitution.
“It’s true that, there is no more ACASWA but the organization has been re-branded and will now be known as the Gospel Association with a new Executive led by Ndoni Ndlangamandla and Mhlonishwa Motsa”, said the Arts and Culture CEO.
On another note, Mzwakhe Myeni told this publication that, he will comment later regarding the decision by the Arts and Culture CEO to dissolve ACASWA.
But this decision comes amid instability within the Association, some artists were strongly against Mzwakhe Myeni and his Executive, accusing the once popular Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors singer of using a South African businessman to manipulate gospel artists and win the election despite concerns suggesting that, he looted ACASWA funds.
As a result, some members of the now defunct ACASWA Executive who were working with Myeni formally approached the Arts and Culture CEO to thank him for dissolving ACASWA and the entire Executive Committee, pledging to serve under the new leadership endorsed by the Arts and Culture.
