MBABANE:King Mswati has applauded Taiwan investors for the new multibillion investment projects including the soon to be constructed Industrial Park.
The King was addressing the investors at Lozitha Palace on Wednesday evening, he urged more investors to establish in eSwatini and take advantage of world including continental markets through the African Continental Free Trade Area(AfCFTA).
As reported by Government online platforms, the King said eSwatini remains a “strategic investment destination positioned as a gateway to Africa and the globe, through preferential markets and trade agreements”, as well as its conducive investment climate, citing peace and stability, low crime rates and hospitality as some of the advantages of investing in the Kingdom.
“Eswatini is ready for business and is ready to work with all of you.Today, we are are making history, especially after the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who had come here to represent the President during one of our celebrations.On that occasion, we were relaunching the strategic oil reserve, which is one of the initiatives that Taiwan has supported.During our interaction, the Minister mentioned to me that Taiwan is very keen to share its knowledge.We know how Taiwan has developed over many years, even when you are under extremely difficult positions,”he said.
The King further thanked the investors for demonstrating, not only to Eswatini but, to the whole world, that Taiwan can contribute very significantly to all mankind.
“We all know the challenges we are facing in this world, challenges of hunger, disease, poverty, conflicts and so on.The world needs to come together and find the right answers.The good thing is that, when you invest in Eswatini, you have access to a lot of markets around the world, starting with our own continent, through the AfCFTA. We want Taiwanese business people to benefit from these markets. We also have a lot of preferential markets, which, once you establish yourself as a company in Eswatini, you automatically access,” he said.
