MBABANE:A young woman is alleged to have used her grandmother Gogo Zondo’s cell-number to communicate with Liswati based in South Africa with an alleged intention to defraud him.
As a result, the woman is wanted by Mcendisi Matsebula after disappearing with one thousand one and fifty Rands(R1150.00” as transport money(imali yekuta)”
Speaking to this Swaziland News this week, Matsebula said he was communicating with the woman on Facebook who agreed to visit him in Johannesburg for a sleep over.
“She first asked me to send seven hundred Rands(R700,00) and thereafter watsi sewu-crossile mane akakhoni kuyikhipha angifake lenye, ngafaka four hundred and fifty(R450,00) wanyamalala. Sengitsi angibike laka-Swaziland News mane aletse lemali yami angaze angilimalele”, he said.
But when this publication called Gogo Zondo’s number, a young woman who answered the phone terminated the conversation immediately after being asked to respond to the allegations of disappearing with the man’s money.
On another note, the police recently warned women against defrauding men, promising to visit them.
Reached for comments by this publication, Nonhlanhla Dlamini, the Executive Director of the Eswatini Action Group Against Abuse(SWAGAA) warned women against defrauding men their money promising to visit them for a sleep over.
But the Executive Director equally warned men against assaulting or killing women merely for disappearing with “imali yekuta” saying there’s no justification for assaulting or killing another person.
“It’s financial abuse to defraud a man promising to visit him for a sleepover, take his money and then disappear. But that does not justify or authorize the defrauded man to assault or kill the woman, the man must find ways and recover his money from the woman,” said the SWAGAA Director.

Ufuniswa kwenyalitsi wesifazane losebentise inombolo ya-Gogo Zondo kwemukela aphindze adle R1150.00 yekuta, SWAGAA Director warns as Mncedisi Matsebula says “this is the cause of domestic violence utangilimalela”.
