MBABANE:Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson has clarified that indeed, “there are no Chiefs in areas where iMiphakatsi for the current King and previous Kings are situated but Tindvuna”.
Ezulwini, eMbekelweni, kaLobamba Lomdzala and Lobamba are some of the areas with Tindvuna, Attorney General(AG) Sifiso Khumalo is the Ezulwini Indvuna while Themba Ginindza is eMbekelweni’s Indvuna.
Lusendvo Fakudze is Lobamba Indvuna while Mlobokazana Fakudze is Lobamba Lomdzala Indvuna and the only Indvuna in the country who doubles as Chief of Ngcoseni.
But the King’s Spokesperson said, the Tindvuna have similar powers to those of Chiefs.
“By traditional design there are royal kraals that are under Headmen(Tindvuna) and not chiefs but have similar responsibilities over their subjects and land as Chiefs.When the headman passes away another indvuna is appointed to succeed him”, said the King’s Spokesperson.
The King’s Spokesperson was responding to this Swaziland News when asked to clarify the powers of Tindvuna in areas where there are no Chiefs but Royal Residences.
