MBABANE:Stanley Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture(ENCAC), has urged emaSwati who have been selected as new Isitha actors to respect and represents the country well.
The actors include well-known former Channel S TV actor Anthony ‘Zuka’ Ntjalintjali and teacher Maggie Ginindza among others, they left the country on Tuesday this week after passing auditions.
“As Arts and Culture, we congratulate them for passing the auditions and urge them to respect and represents the country well so that, Isitha could come back for more emaSwati. Such talent do not only benefit the actors financially but even the country because as the actor becomes famous, the country is marketed because that actor will always be identified as Liswati. I will make an example; some people don’t know the name of the Portugal President but they know soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo. So through Ronaldo, Portugal is known, we urge them to create a good name for eSwatini,” said the Arts and Culture Chief Executive Officer.
On another note, the CEO said they have an agreement with Isitha that will result to more emaSwati exploring opportunities in the acting industry in South Africa.
“That’s why we urge those who were successful during the auditions to respect and work hard so that, Isitha can come back for more actors,” he said.
