MBABANE:Kwanele Magagula,the Secretary General of the Law Society of Eswatini(LSE) has clarified that, Sibulelo Jele who is trending on social media after assaulting his girlfriend, is not a lawyer.
In a press release sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday evening, the Law Society condemned any form of Gender Based Violence(GBV).
“Sibulelo Jele is not a member of the Law Society.He is not an Attorney nor an articled Clerk,” reads the press release in part.
Sibulelo Jele who is working for SM Jele Attorneys, allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and was not immediately available for a comment.
Reached for comments by this Swaziland News, Colani Hlatjwako, the Coordinator for One Billion Rising said, the law must take its course.
“We appreciate the Law Society for coming out publicly, condemns GBV and further clarify that Sibulelo Jele is not a lawyer,” she said.
One Billion Rising is a women rights advocacy organization.
