Finance Minister: SACU receipts declined to E6.38 billion this financial year.

MBABANE: Neal Rijikernberg, the Minister of Finance said receipts from the Southern African Customs Union(SACU) declined from E8.35 billion to E6.38billion the year 2021/2022.
Speaking in Parliament on Friday when delivering the budget speech, the Minister said government revenue for the 2021/22 fiscal year is expected to reach E19.45billion.
“Government revenue in the 2021/22 fiscal year is projected to reach E19.45 billion, which is 27.5 percent of GDP. SACU receipts declined from E8.35 billion in 2020/21 to E6.38 billion in 2021/22. Non-SACU revenue is E12.66 billion" said the Finance Minister.
Eswatini is facing serious financial challenges, the health system has collapsed teachers union blames Governemnt regarding the delay of the opening of schools by failing to provide Personal Protective Clothing(PPEs) for teachers and children.
