MBABANE:Twenty(20) Members of Parliament(MPs) are currently booked at the Hilton Hotel-Mbabane to discuss the ‘Provident Fund Conversion Bill’ and other relevant laws.

The MPs arrived on Thursday night and they are currently being lobbied to reject the Eswatini National Pension Fund(ENPF) Bill that seeks to convert the Provident Fund into a Pension Fund, the lobbying will continue until Friday morning.

Lobbying is a ‘political term’ that describes the process seeking to influence a legislator or MPs on a certain issue.

It has been disclosed that, the Parliamentarians were further made to conduct an analysis of the Public Service Pension Fund Order of 1993 and how the emergence of another Pension Fund will affect the PSPF in terms of membership and multibillion investments.

Masotja Vilakati, the Pension Fund Chief Executive Officer(CEO) was not available for a comment regarding the ongoing Parliament lobbying as his cellphone rang unanswered.

But the MPs are highly expected to receive five thousand Rands(R5000.00) from the PSPF as a traveling allowance according to information leaked to this Swaziland News.

This amounts to over one hundred thousand Rands(R100,000.00) for the twenty MPs that include among others, Nathie Hlophe(Mtfongwaneni), Lobamba MP Michael Masilela, Manzi Zwane from Nhlambeni, Sandile Nxumalo(Somntongo), Masiphula Mamba from Khubutha and Dr Bongnkhosi Dlamini(Mhlambanyatsi).
