MBABANE:Sergeant Dumsile Khumalo, the Secretary General of the Royal Eswatini Police Staff Association(REPOSA) has been detained at the Malkerns Police Station and, prevented from attending the Police Day graced by King Mswati on Friday.
Senior Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, declined to comment.
Reached for comment by this Swaziland News, Sergeant Khumalo confirmed the detention adding that, she “has been told the purpose is to prevent her from attending” the Police Day.
“I have been detained by Station Officer Mguyo Kunene and officials from the State Intelligence Service are surrounding Police Station monitoring me. They received information suggesting that, I will cause drama during the Police Day Celebration by going straight to the King ngimemete ngitsi “asikamtfoli Phase two(II) Ngwenyama. Angati beve ngani ngoba vele bengicondza khona eNgwenyameni. We are not happy as junior police officers, the agreement was not signed on our behalf, we want a salary increment as per the 2014 Circular not the 3%”, said the REPOSA Secretary General.
