MBABANE:The home of a Ngwenya police officer working under the Operational Support Services Unit(OSSU) who allegedly colluded with the late Deputy National Commissioner Sam Mthembu in abducting editor Zweli Martin Dlamini’s wife was, in the early hours on Wednesday, burned again by unknown people.
The cop who illegally bought a home at LaMgabhi eTiyeni at the time when there was no Chief at LaMgabhi, he illegally secured the land in an area allocated to the editor’s grandfather former Deputy National Court President Prince Mgungu and he was subsequently evicted by the editor after he became a security threat.
Ngwenya was allegedly spying the editor’s family, reporting even senior members of royal family who would visit the editor’s home.
As a result, the police almost killed the editor’s wife in April 2020 demanding that, she reveals his whereabouts and the names of high profile who used to visit the editor.He was subsequently evicted by Dlamini and fled the area together with his wife and children about two(2) years ago however, residents of LaMgabhi eTiyeni informed the editor that they saw him walking in the area last week and three(3) days later, the remains of the home were burnt again by the unknown people.
The editor reported the police to the Eswatini Human Rights Commission in 2020 for abducting his wife and torturing him, however, the Commission sabotaged the case thus placing the police in a vulnerable situation to be dealt with by unknown people in their personal capacity.
