MACETJENI:Chief Prince Mshengu of Macetjeni has imposed a fine of five(5) cattle on Mbongeni Mamba who bravely fought “Bemanti” ritual men last year during Incwala ceremony.
A cow is worth about ten thousand Rands(R10,000.00) in eSwatini and this means Mamba has been fined fifty thousand Rands(R50,000.00) merely for exercising his constitutional right to freedom of religion by refusing to allow Bemanti inside the premises of his home.
The fine was communicated by Indvuna Sipho Mamba during a meeting held at uMphakatsi, Mbongeni Mamba was told to pay the fine as a matter of urgency.
“The Prince is demanding five cows urgently, letinye kuletinkhomo utatimikisa lena ayokushweletela ngoba vele konakala, ligama leMacetjeni lonakala”, said the Indvuna.
It has been disclosed that,the Chief used King Mswati’s name in an attempt to collect the cattle or the R50,000.00 from Mamba by saying, part of the money will be used to calm down Mswati.
But Mbongeni Mamba told the Inner Council that, he doesn’t have money as he was fired by the Central Bank of Eswatini(CBE) and the same uMphakatsi allegedly influenced his dismissal.
“I don’t have money, I lost my job because of this matter.I used all the money paid my employer as terminal benefits to clear my bank loans,” he said.
