MBABANE:Percy Simelane, the King’s Spokesperson has clarified that, “the King has only one Spokesperson and that, the Monarch’s position directing the King’s Office to respond to the Swaziland News stands”.
Speaking to this publication when asked if he is aware that Interpreter Sihle Dlamini has an online platform and that he employed someone to attack him merely for responding to this publication, the King’s Spokesperson said he was fully aware but decided not to entertain Dlamini and his ‘boy’.
The King’s Spokesperson said, he saw the social media posts attacking him adding that, the views are normally those communicated by Sihle Dlamini in the corridors.
“I am not aware of another appointment to do what I officially do. I am, however, aware of the spooky attacks of my person. My training is included the ability to trace an article to the source. We all have words that we do not leave out in our daily talk. These words will sure appear in an article even if the author withheld his name. We are not aware the King appointed a side- kick information bureau. If there is one operating, then it is illegal,” he said.
Simelane said, he remains the official King’s Spokesperson and therefore, there’s no other person who can communicate the King’s position in this regard, outside the Office of the Spokesperson.
“My appointment was made public. The side-kick bureau of information and communication was not announced by anyone. That it attacks me from time to time shows how evil it can be. We are supposed to be pushing back from the same corner but the side-kick directorate of information and communication fights me baselessly. The reason I don’t respond to the insinuating made by the medium in question is that I am bigger than squaring up to demonic journalism,” said the King’s Spokesperson when speaking to editor Zweli Martin Dlamini.
Sihle Dlamini failed to respond to this publication and clarify why he has been attacking the King’s Spokesperson for doing his job.
But the King’s Interpreter has been vocal, trying to attack the King’s Spokesperson for responding to this publication, he went as far as far as employing a social media ‘boy’ specifically to try and intimidate public figures with false information suggesting that, those who respond to this publication will be in trouble.
Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini is among public figures who decided to respond to this publication and clarify issues, Sihle Dlamini was vigorously against this.
