MBABANE:John Molelekeng, the Eswatini TV Chief editor has left the State owned media company after years of service in journalism.
The seasoned journalist who is highly expected to officially leave the TV station on Friday this week, confirmed this on Wednesday evening when chatting to Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini, the outgoing Chief editor is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration(MBA).
“It’s true that I am leaving Eswatini TV, there are opportunities that come with technology and you were among the first journalists to realize those opportunities. So with my experience I think media consultancy will work for me,” said the outgoing Eswatini TV Chief editor.
Molelekeng has served Eswatini TV since November 2009 and has been instrumental in the successful coverage of the 2023 National elections that even gained recognition from His Majesty the King.
The Chief editor was instrumental in modernizing the newsroom’s operations, “expanding the channel’s digital presence, as well as being the brain behind the deployment of Regional Correspondents by the TV Station. He also introduced the midday news wbulletin, one(1) hour bulletin and the Schools Sports Soccer Games.
The Chief editor holds a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication(UNESWA), B.A Journalism and Mass Majoring in Broadcasting(UNESWA) Communication, he is now pursuing the MBA with Botho University.
