MBABANE:The Southern African Development Community(SADC) is of the view that, eSwatini remains a peaceful country capable of promoting peace and stability within the entire region.
This is contained in an online statement released this week where SADC was congratulating eSwatini on the 57th Independence Day Celebration.
“On this memorable occasion, SADC extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Kingdom of Eswatini, a Member State of SADC since 1968 and the Incoming Chair of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation from August. We look forward to the Kingdom of Eswatini’s contribution to SADC’s regional integration, peace and development efforts in the years ahead. As Eswatini marks this significant milestone, SADC wishes the people of Eswatini continued unity, peace and prosperity. Happy 57th Independence Anniversary!”, reads the online statement in part.
King Mswati is highly expected to take over as SADC Troika Chairman next year, he is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Organ on Politics, Defense and Security Cooperation.
