MBABANE:Nokwazi Hlophe, the Communications Manager of the State owned Eswatini Water and Agricultural Enterprise(EWADE) has confirmed that, R45million has been spent in building new homes for families affected by the R2.6billion Mpakeni Dam.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the Communications Manager said, the investment in the resettlement programme is not only covering the construction of homes but fencing, fruit trees, VIP sanitation, and culturally sensitive grave relocation rituals.
She said to “ensure that no household is left behind, the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini has allocated E83 million in the 2025/26 fiscal year specifically for the final phase of resettlement adding that, the financial commitment signals the State’s prioritisation of social equity and developmental justice”.
