MBABANE:Muzi Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the Eswatini Competition Commission(ESCC) is leaving the State owned entity.
Commerce, Industry and Trade Minister Mancoba Khumalo has released a press statement, applauding Dlamini for transforming the Commission while demonstrating ethical leadership.
“Under his guidance, the Commission has made significant strides in enforcing competition laws, advocating for policy reforms and raising awareness about the importance of competition in the marketplace. As Mr Dlamini departs, we wish him well in his future endeavors. His contribution will have a lasting impact on our economy, and his legacy will continue to inspire future leaders in this field,” said the Commerce Minister.
Efforts to seek a comment from the outgoing Eswatini Competition Commission CEO proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
The Eswatini Competition Commission (ESCC) is a statutory body established under the Competition Act of 2007 to promote fair competition, prevent anti-competitive practices, regulate mergers and acquisitions, and protect consumer welfare in Eswatini’s markets.
The State owned competition regulator seeks to among others, create a level playing field where businesses compete fairly, consumers protected from exploitative practices, and economic growth driven by innovation and efficiency.
