MBABANE: Mthandeni Dube, the Ngwempisi Member of Parliament(MP) said Senator Vuka Moi Moi Masilela is supporting the royal family at the expense of the poor Swazis including Chiefs who are oppressed by the Tinkhundla system of Governance.
This comes after Senator Masilela accused MPs in the House of Assembly of delaying the budget, supported by Senator Mkhululi ‘Dubula’ Dlamini, he further urged Chiefs to deal with vocal MPs as calls for the country to adopt multi-party democracy intensify even Parliament.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the MP challenged Senator Masilela to produce evidence on what has been achieved by him and the Tinkhundla system in improving the lives of the people since he joined politics about twenty(20) years ago.
“We raised critical issues in Parliament that seek to address the plight of the people. As MPs, when we forced government to stop demanding school fees for last year and further refund parents who paid, Moi Moi thought we were crazy. Is he working towards pleasing his master or the interest of Emaswati?” he said.
The Ngwemphisi MP further mentioned that as MPs they were addressing critical issues that touched on even the economy adding that Lobamba Lomdzala MP Marwick Khumalo even moved a motion to ease the lockdown in the interest of the economy.
Efforts were made several times to reach Senator Vuka ‘Moi Moi’ Masilela for comments, however, his phone rang unanswered.
