Thursday, 8th April, 2021

MBABANE: King Mswati allegedly told Army Commander Lieutenant General Jeffrey Sipho Shabalala that the survival of his Throne  and the royal family is now in the hands of the military.

This is contained in highly sensitive electronic evidence obtained by the investigation unit of this Swaziland News that further disclosed how the King held a secret meeting with Prince Sihlangusemphi, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of the National Defense Council, Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, the King’s Office CEO and the Army Commander where he stated clearly that they must work in unity and protect the Royal family and his Throne at all costs.

Details of the electronic evidence in our possession that contains other critical information about the pillars of the Monarch further discloses that the King told Prince Sihlangusemphi and Chief Mgwagwa to make sure the Army Commander receives all tools, support and resources from government to protect him. The King said in the event Government refused or demonstrated reluctance in providing the Army Commander with resources, Prince Sihlangsemphi must contact Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze and both of them must seek an audience with him as a matter of urgency so he could issue a command to Government.

Now, it has been disclosed that the King allegedly held the secret meeting and informed Jeffery Shabalala, the then Deputy Army Commander  that he would remove Sobantu Dlamini, the then Army boss and appoint him during the Army Day, however, he warned Shabalala to make sure he work with loyalty throughout his life and protect him and the Throne.

“Sihlangusemphi, you worked very well with Mgwagwa while in Cabinet and I want that unity among yourselves to continue, nibambane, nakukhona lakufuna(Army Commander) kuHulumende nente siciniseko kutsi uyakutfola(meaning: make sure the Army Commander receives resources from Government)”, the King allegedly said.

A questionnaire was sent to the Army Commander Jeffrey Shabalala, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

A separate investigation report substantiated by WhatsApp messages sourced from the  Army Commander's private Swazi Mobile number and audio recordings further revealed details of another meeting by State security agents where a plot to assassinate individuals who are critical of the current Government that include Hosea MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, Siphofaneni MP Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane and this journalist Zweli Martin Dlamini was discussed in  length.

In the recording, the Army Commander spoke about a strategy of unleashing State security agents to use their military training and cause a car accident when killing the said individuals, however, he sounded worried that their intelligence told them that  more Swazis who were yet to be critical against the Government might soon emerge.

“Buka-ke kusetawuvela labanye labatoba-strong, ngoba lona(editor) uyabhala, bese bayayi-tsatsa boMagawugawu naboba-Bacede bayikhulume ePhalamende(meaning: More Swazis who will be critical of the government will emerge, this journalist writes and then the MPs raise the issues in Parliament)”,said the Army Commander.

On or around 04 November 2020, Hosea MP Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza who was driving his Jaguar F-Pace 300 survived a car accident at New Village along the Yithi Abantu Highway, this was shortly after he  was assaulted by the police and arrested on fabricated criminal charges after he successfully lobbied MPs and moved a Parliament motion to suspend the Prevention of Organized Crime Act(POCA) that was selectively used by Government to target dagga farmers.

Reached for comments, the Hosea MP confirmed the car accident that was widely reported, however, he said he was not in a rightful position to give further comments.

“I am not in a right position to speak further, please contact me later”, said the MP.

Evidence in our possession further revealed that on or around November 2020, Abbie Thela, an alleged secret State agent specialising in tracing political activists and or individuals critical of the King and eSwatini Government visited one of the towns in South Africa, he told those he interviewed that he was assisting the Eswatini King and security bosses in search for the editor of this publication. It has been disclosed that Thela, who was allegedly in possession of an identity card written "Military Police", currently resides in Middelburg, South Africa and was allegedly carrying a picture of this journalist when conducting the tracing.

Reached for comments, Abbie Thela, the alleged State agent denied that he was tracing the editor, but said he was looking for his relatives after he discovered that his roots are from eSwatini.

"I am not looking for you my brother, actually,I was looking for my relatives after discovering that my roots are from eSwatini, maybe you can assist me know my relatives there" he said.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network(SNN) advised political activists and independent journalists to be extra careful saying now, the regime was desperate and dangerous.

"Comrades like Mario Masuku and Jan Sithole died mysteriously, Masuku allegedly died of COVID-19 but his wife never tested positive to the virus. This brings suspicions after it emerged that Jan was allegedly poisoned. We are not surprised by these revelations, however, one can advise political activists and independent journalists to be extra careful as the regime is now desperate and dangerous" said the SSN Spokesperson.

When this publication tried to reach Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the King's Office, his number was not available on MTN network.

Reached for comments, Sibongile Mazibuko, the President of the Ngwane National Liberatory Congress(NNLC) said the the country experienced  mysterious deaths and disappearance of people who were critical of the regime without any investigation by the police, she thanked this publication for obtaining such evidence that exposes how people are killed in the country.

"We have seen the disappearance of people and mysterious deaths of political activists without any investigation, instead the victims or relatives were threatened by the police for demanding answers. This shows that as long as we have a person who is above the law and can decide who must live and who must die, we will have a serious problem, we need democracy" said the NNLC President.

Due to the sensitivity of the information, the evidence was shared with international human rights organisations for appropriate filing and action as the investigation continues.

But in the audio recordings , the Army Commander also speaks about high ranking Army Personnel that include one Mashikilisane Fakudze whom he described as  rebellious and was eyeing to take over as Army Commander.

It has been disclosed that Shabalala tried and failed to deal with the powerful clique loyal to former Army Commander Sobantu Dlamini that include the said Mashikilisane, however,King Mswati’s Mother Ntombi Tfwala  allegedly intervened.

Eswatini, a tiny Kingdom situated in Southern Africa is currently facing serious calls for regime change, for the first time in 50 years, the calls are now intensifying even in Parliament and secretly supported by some senior members of the Umbutfo Eswatini Defense Force(UEDF), political parties are banned from participating in elections and their peaceful gatherings are normally dispersed by armed security forces.
