MBABANE: Oscar Nkambule, the President of the National Public Service and Allied Workers Union(NAPSAWU) has warned the Nation that more lives would be lost during accidents as a result of Government's failure to provide Ambulances and other working equipment for civil servants.
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Thursday, the NAPSAWU President said the recent fatal accident at Gobholo saw many people dying because of Government's negligence and the continuous delays by Ambulances to attend to accident scenes due to the lack of petrol and other resources.Many people died, even some who could have survived if they had urgent access to health care.
“We are warning the Nation not to sit down and think we are just speaking against government when we raise an alarm regarding the shortage of working tools,at the end the public becomes the victims.Government must fulfil social obligations and provide working equipment for civil servants to provide services to the people”, he said.
A questionnaire was sent to Government Spokesperson Sabelo Dlamini, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
On another note, Bucopho for LaMgabhi Etiyeni under Hhukwini Inkhundla, Richard Maseko said as Inkhundla they would donate to the relatives of the victims so that the deceased can have decent funerals.
Speaking to this publication, Maseko sent his condolences to the family of the victims, he further confirmed that some of the victims were working for Hhukwini Inkhundla.
