HOSEA: Zwakele Dlamini, the Shiselweni Regional Secretary allegedly bullied and harassed Hosea Indvuna YeNkhundla Richard Nkosibonile Vilane for collaborating with his Member of Parliament(MP) Mduduzi 'Bacede' Mabuza to address residents on democratic reforms.
This comes few days after Acting Prime Minister Themba Masuku tried to discredit pro-democracy MPs saying they were not mandated by the people to demand democratic reforms.
But as the demands for freedom intensify in the rural areas, on Saturday over 2000 residents within the Hosea Inkhundla assembled at the Sports Ground where the issue of democratic reforms particularly the issue of an elected Prime Minister was discussed at length.
In a telephone audio recording in possession of this Swaziland News, that is now trending online, the Regional Secretary attempted to stop the meeting saying he did not authorised it.
“Who are you reporting to? Asengikubute uphetfwe kuphi wena? Nine-function eNkhundleni anikasibhaleli kutosatisa, yini lentfo leyo?(meaning: You organised a function at the Inkhundla without seeking permission from us, why? We are aware of that meeting as the Regional Office, I will send police officers to stop it” , said the Regional Secretary in the recorded conversation.
Questions were sent to the Regional Secretary where he was asked to clarify the allegations contained in the audio, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Mduduzi Bacede Mabuza, the Hosea MP urged the Regional Secretary and other traditional leaders to focus on their duties and stay away from politics.
“We don’t need to seek permission from him to hold meetings at the Inkhundla, he must stay away from politics. It is important to remind other traditional leaders that at the time of political tensions where we are demanding for democracy, we don’t want them to interfere because they are not politicians”, said the MP.
