MBABANE: Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) will address the Nation on Sunday at 2000hours evening ahead of a mass protest on Monday.
This forms part and in complimentary to global activities facilitated by other Swazis abroad to intensify the calls for democratic reforms.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, the MP described Monday(06 September 2021) as a Black Monday adding that Swazis were ushered into slavery disguised as independence.
“As we get ready for the Black Monday, 6 September,a date that was meant to be joy to the life of swazi people but ended up being the worse nightmare for this great nation, sending thousands to poverty, empowering a certain family and the elite few with the ticket to abuse power, loot public funds, torture innocent citizens, crush on human rights and human rights defenders and being the law unto themselves. The date was meant to bring light and smile to the masses, unfortunately this is the date where the souls of our people were sold to darkness and anguish”, he said.
On another note, the United Eswatini Diaspora, an organization of Swazis living abroad and other concerned individuals have organized various activities and visual events to intensify the calls for democratic reforms.
As part of the activities, political leaders urged Swazis to boycott or refrain from supporting companies linked to King Mswati and the royal family.
