Ex-PSL players donate soccer kit to arrested Ngwempisi MP Mthandeni Dube.

MBABANE: Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates players have donated a soccer kit to arrested Ngwempisi Member of Parliament(MP) Mthandeni Dube.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye together with former Orlando  Pirates defender Lizo Mjempu  and  another influential player at Mamelodi Sundowns who were part of this generous donation expressed their support to the arrested MP.

The name of the Sundowns player is known to publication but cannot be revealed as his South African agents asked that he must remain anonymous for now.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Junior Thabo Kanye said when MP Dube won elections, he invited them to one of the schools in eSwatini.

“From me, personally Junior Thabo Kanye, on behalf of Amajita(fellow players), we are donating this soccer kit to Mr Dube. When he won elections, he invited us to one of the schools and now we are donating this soccer kit, he will hand it over to any school of his choice”,he said.

Lizo Mjempu said MP Mthandeni Dube gave them a warm welcome when they arrived in the country.

“Mr Dube, thank you for the warm welcome you gave us when we arrived in Swaziland, here is a soccer kit as a your present that we promised you while we were there. We couldn’t personally come due to COVID-19 restrictions, please take this present", he said.

MP Mthandeni Dube was arrested by King Mswati’s police together with Hosea MP Bacede Mabuza merely for demanding democratic reforms on behalf of the people who elected them.
