MANZINI: Sikekelela Dlamini, the Secretary General of the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT)  said government didn't consult with them before announcing the fully re-opening of schools as from next week Monday.

Education Minister Lady Howard-Mabuza did not respond when reached for comments,by this publication.

Speaking during a press conference at the SNAT center offices on Thursday, the Secretary General said COVID 19 was still a threat despite the vaccination of teachers, parents and students. Adding that there was still a security threat due to the ongoing riots among other issues.

We expected the Minister to address the shortage of teachers  in schools. The absence of a school calendar is also a mess, as the SNAT we requested the Minister to bring it up but up to today there is still nothing\", he said.
