King Mswati blasts pro-democracy advocators again says they are drunk, smoke dagga.

MBABANE: King Mswati has once again accused those calling for democratic reforms of being drunk adding that they smoke dagga.

This comes after the calls for democratic reforms intensified this week  with students across the country boycotting classes  calling for democracy and the release of all political prisoners.

Addressing the Nation during the opening of the referral wing of the Mbabane Government Hospital on Friday, the King who is Africa’s last absolute monarch condemned the involvement of children in the ongoing protests. He  claimed that the propagators who misled the children to rise against him were drunk and high on dagga.

“The propagators have misled people to drink alcohol and smoke dagga and then call for dialogue, then you ask yourself how can they engage in a dialogue when their state of sobriety is questionable? They demand to be heard , how can you listen to such people?" he said.

When reached for comments , Pius Vilakati, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Communist Party (CPS) said King Mswati would never be open for dialogue adding that Swazis needed to unite and overthrow this government.

"The sad truth that Swazis need to face is that Mswati will never be, as he has never been, open to any dialogue that seeks to transform the country into a democracy. He has shown this numerous times. As things stand, our task as the people of Swaziland is to forge the widest possible unity against this oppressive monarch and overthrow the entire system, for democracy", said the CPS Spokesperson.

Eswatini is in a second wave of a civil unrest whereby people  including students have taken to the streets to demand democratic reforms with King Mswati responding by unleashing his army on unarmed citizens.
