The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) and other organizations picketed at the Eswatini Consulate in Johannesburg on Friday calling for it's closure as the calls for democracy in Swaziland intensified.
Pius Vilakati, the Spokesperson of the Communist Party of Swaziland said today they engaged in a protest action outside the Eswatini Embassy in Johannesburg to demand it's removal as they intensified the calls for democracy.
"We are at the Swaziland Consulate protesting, calling for the democratisation of Swaziland.We are saying to South Africa they must kick out Swaziland from South Africa, the Embassy must be shutdown along with the Consulate it cannot be normal that relations can continue as if everything is normal, the people of Swaziland are killed we are receiving solidarity from COSATU,NEHAWU,SAPC and other forces coming in we are also with the Diaspora”, said the Spokesperson of Communist Party Of Swaziland(CPS).
King Mswati is facing mounting political pressure as Swazis both from inside and outside the country call for democratic reforms.He allegedly ordered the police and his soldiers to shoot unarmed civilians who were demanding democratic reforms.
