Gogo cries outside court, says incarcerated pro-democracy MP Bacede Mabuza was feeding her, other residents.

MBABANE: Gogo Esther Mathutjwa-Gama from Hosea cried hysterically outside the Mbabane High Court on Thursday saying incarcerated pro-democracy Hosea Member of Parliament(MP) Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube were feeding her and other residents.

This was during the continuation of MP Mabuza's trial who arrested and charged together with Ngwemphisi MP Mthandeni Dube, the two popular legislators are facing politically motivated criminal charges after they demanded democratic reforms on bahalf of the people who elected them.

Speaking to this Swaziland News, Gogo Mathuntjwa said MP Mabuza even provided food for them as residents while he was in prison, she then cried hysterically pleading for his release.

“He was feeding us as residents and he even provided food for us while he was in prison. During the Christmas holidays, we don’t know where our meal will come from”, said the elderly woman.

MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube who are critical of King Mswati’s Government were thrown behind bars on the 25th July 2021 for demanding democratic reforms, the order to arrest them was allegedly issued by the King.

This is contained in an electronic evidence released by this publication where the then Army Commander Jeffery Shabalala confirmed that Mswati ordered National Commissioner William Dlamini to arrest the MPs.

Before his arrest, MP Mabuza told Speaker Petros Mavimbela inside Parliament that he was ready to suffer while demanding freedom for the Swazis.
