EZULWINI: Marwick Khumalo, the Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament has warned the Nation that the continuous huge expenditure in the country will soon ground the operations of government.
Speaking during the Post Budget Seminar hosted by the Central Bank at the Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini yesterday, the MP said it’s high time the issue of the huge expenditure was addressed in the interest of the country.
“We know the problem and let us address it because if we fail to do so, we will continue holding these Seminars, drink tea, and nothing will change, let’s just face the problem” the seasoned MP said.
The MP further questioned why the Minister of Finance did not mention anything about the issue of Cannabis in his Budget Speech as it remains a major topic in terms of economic growth.
“Parliament was eagerly waiting to hear government plans on the issue of Cannabis and nothing was mentioned in the Minister’s Budget Speech. This is very unfortunate because South Africa is moving fast in legalizing Cannabis and we might be left behind” he said.
The MP warned that the country was seemingly slow to implement projects that seeks to improve the economy while the expenditure keeps on growing.
“The expenditure and the slow growth of the economy suggests that we are in a serious problem” he said.
