MBABANE: Gift Dlamini, the Deputy Secretary General (DSG) of the Swaziland Liberation Movemen(SWALIMO) who fled the country amid persecution allegedly by Mswati’s police is back, he warned anyone including police officers against invading his place of residence.
This comes after heavily armed police officers allegedly invaded his home in relation to the “June 29 repeat” statement, Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku said the burning of Tinkhundla Minister David Cruiser Ngcamphalala was allegedly linked to that statement made by SWALIMO President Mduduzi Magawugawu Simelane.
Speaking shortly after his return on Monday afternoon, the SWALIMO's Deputy Secretary General said his lawyers met with the police and it was concluded that it was safe for him to return home.
“The police denied that they were looking for me and as the NEC we concluded that these were just criminals. Now, any intruder including the police who will invade my place of residence will be severely dealt with. It's unfortunate that we are also blamed for the burning of Minister Cruiser Ngcamphalala's house.Let me make it clear that as SWALIMO we don’t do such silly things. Let me warn the Deputy Prime Minister not to incite violence by urging people to arm themselves and be vigilant to arsonists",he said.
Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
