ANC supports efforts to resolve political conflict in eSwatini.

POLOKWANE: The African National Congress(ANC) supports the efforts to resolve the ongoing political conflict in the Kingdom of eSwatini.

This was revealed by ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa when delivering the January 8 statement during the ANC 110 Anniversary here at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday. 

Ramaphosa, the South African President is the Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community(SADC) Troika on Politics, Defense and Politics.

“We support the ongoing efforts to find African solutions to African problems in resolving the conflicts in Mozambique, Lesotho, the Kingdom of Eswatini, Sudan and Ethiopia.

We will continue to support the SADC mission in Mozambique”, said the ANC President.

The ANC held its 110 Anniversary at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, President Ramaphosa delivered the January 8 statement on Saturday.

Eswatini is facing a political unrest after King Mswati unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of protesting civilians.

The Human Rights Commission released a preliminary report suggesting that forty-six(46) people were killed, but political parties and the civil society alleged that they have evidence suggesting that over one hundred(100) people were killed with over seventy(70) already identified.
