MBABANE: Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network (SSN) has urged pro-democracy soldiers to remove Mswati and then hand over power to the people.
This comes after the King declared war on those who were demanding democratic reforms and burning properties. He interpreted that as a direct attack on him .
Speaking to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, the SSN Spokesperson said King Mswati was always controlled by emotions and didn't know how to address the Nation properly.
“This is not the first time he is speaking like this, he did it in 1998, 2008 and now in 2022 he is still repeating the same. He is suicidal and he wants to burn this country up, the security forces should help us remove him through a progressive coup" , said the SSN Spokesperson.
When dispersing his regiments on Saturday, Mswati reminded pro-democracy activists that eSwatini belonged to him adding that the burning of any structure or anything would be interpreted as a direct attack on him as the King.
"I am reminding those who are burning structures saying they want change kaNgwane (eSwatini) that anything that will burn as from today , that would be interpreted as a direct attack on the King”, said the absolute Monarch .
In 1998, he declared war on pro-democracy activists saying they should forget about him relinquishing power. In 2008 , when appointing the late Dr Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini as Prime Minister declared war on political activists saying they should be strangled to death.
Mswati rules eSwatini as an absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers. Political parties are banned from participating in elections and citizens are killed for merely protesting demanding democratic reforms.
