SIKHUPHE: Prince Mcwasho was on Friday seen driving a multi-million Rolls Royce car, he arrived at the King Mswati International airport to drop his sister Princess Ezwe.
Prince Mcwasho allegedly arrived with Prince Sicalo, the Defence Prince Principal Secretary who was driving a Mercedes Benz with South African registration numbers.
It has been disclosed that Princess Ezwe was at the airport to take a flight, the destination remains unknown.
Amid public outcry in a country where about 70% of the population lives below the poverty line, King Mswati purchased about twenty(20) Rolls Royce cars in 2019 worth over R200million.
Reached for comments, Mduduzi ‘Magawugawu’ Simelane, the President of the Swaziland Liberation Movement(SWALIMO) said the new developments where Mswati’s children were seen driving Rolls Royce confirmed the King’s sentiments that everything belonged to him.
“To all those who thought the king was figurative when he said everything belonged to him, they must now see what he literally meant that he owns us as his property. We cannot accept such extravagance at the expense of our people. It’s a heartless regime and all about themselves”, said the SWALIMO President.
Efforts to reach Prince Mcwasho proved unsuccessful at the time of compiling this report.
Questions were then sent to Defense Principal Secretary Prince Sicalo through his mobile number, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
King Mswati when speaking through Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the King’s Office told this Swaziland News in 2019 that he bought the Royce Rolls from his pocket.
Worth-noting, Mswati, a multi-billionaire was never employed and survives with taxpayers money, he recently announced that everything in eSwatini belonged to him.
Reached for comments, Mbongseni Shabangu, the Secretary General of the Swaziland Democratic Party(SWADEPA) said if the King had the interests of the Swazis at heart, his family could have stopped using these Rolls Royce in the midst of the public outcry.
“But just because he doesn’t care and has no interests of the people, they are still using these expensive cars”, said the SWADEPA Secretary General.
