MATSAPHA: The Justice and Peace Commission of the Catholic Church Holy Rosary in Mankayane visited incarcerated pro-democracy Member of Parliament (MP) Mthandeni Dube at the Matsapha Maximum Prison on Sunday.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Goodwill Tsabedze, the Program Manager of the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace said the MP was still resolute in his political beliefs and aspirations but was worried that the leaders of this country were not willing to engage in a meaningful dialogue.
“He lamented the fact that the leaders of the country are not ready to open up the political space to allow people to speak about their political challenges\", he said.
Mthandeni Dube, the Ngwempisi Member of Parliament (MP) was arrested together with Hosea MP Bacede Mabuza for calling for democratic reforms in Parliament.
Eswatini is in a midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed his forces to shoot and kill dozens civilians for demanding democratic reforms. The King further ordered the arrest of the pro-democracy MPs.
