MBABANE: King Mswati’s Spokesperson Percy Simelane is currently admitted at the Mbabane clinic in a critical condition.
This is the same clinic where Inkhosikati LaMbikiza and Princess Sikhanyiso were treated last month amid a poisoning scare within the royal family.
Simelane, the newly appointed Director of Communications in the King’s Office has been indisposed for almost two weeks now.
“He is here very sick, uyagezwa ngisho kugezwa”, said an insider who previously assisted in leaking LaMbikiza and Princess Sikhanyiso’s information.
Part of the information about Simelane being admitted at the clinic cannot he revealed for ethical reasons.
Percy Simelane works closely with the State controlled media, however, the information suggesting that he was sick has been kept a top secret allegedly, by State journalists.
On Thursday, this publication tried to reach Simelane via his mobile phone, however, it rang unanswered.
An attempt was then made by this journalist to call the Mbabane Clinic through its landline, asked to speak to Simelane and the lady who answered asked to alert him about the call.
As sicknesses of high profile people are kept a top secret in eSwatini, this journalist went undercover and pretended to be Mr Mckin and asked to speak to Mr Percy Simelane.
“This line doesn’t connect to the Wards, please call him on his cell number. Let me go and tell him to open his phone”, said the lady who answered the call.
Another effort was made to call Chief Mgwagwa Gamedze, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in the King’s Office, however, his phone rang unanswered.
But this publication is in possession of information confirming that Percy Simelane is allegedly admitted at the Mbabane Clinic.
