MBABANE: Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People's United Democratic Movement (PUDEMO) has paid medical bills for injured pro-democracy activists from different political formations.
This comes after Mswati’s police abducted and assaulted more than fifty (50) supporters of the incarcerated pro-democracy MPs when trying to prevent them from going to the Mbabane High Court.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Sicelo Anderson Dlamini, the Chief Marshall of the Swaziland Democratic Party (SWADEPA) thanked the PUDEMO President for not discriminating the activists according to their political homes.
“Yesterday I was so humbled to see him taking good care of us at the Nazarene hospital and also settling our hospital bills. He has always said that no political organization will free Swaziland but the political activists and the entire Swazi Nation themselves,” he said.
About a month ago, the PUDEMO President paid bail for members of the Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) who were arrested by the police.
On another note, Mbongseni Shabangu, the SWADEPA Secretary General also demonstrated humanity when he used his resources to transport all injured activists to hospital regardless of their political affiliation.
