MBABANE: The petrol bombings of cars belonging to Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman Ngomyayona Gamedze and the Secretary General of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO)Wandile Dludlu were allegedly excluded from the list of cases investigated by the police, this publication has gathered.
State Crime Intelligence documents in our possession suggest that Gamedze and Dludlu's cases are not among the cases investigated by the police, through their organizations, both political leaders are members of the Political Parties Assembly(PPA).
Political activists Wandile Dludlu and Ngomyayona Gamedze who are active in the calls for democratic reforms had their cars petrol bombed by unknown people at night.
As reported by this Swaziland News before the attacks, King Mswati allegedly issued an order to burn properties belonging to political activists.
Strangely, those cases do not appear in the list of terrorism cases investigated and perpetrators are believed to be linked to the State.
But apart from these cases, a case of attempted bombing that was also excluded as per the documents in our possession is that of Penuel Malinga, the PUDEMO National Organiser who was allegedly attacked by unknown people
A questionnaire was sent to National Commissioner of Police, William Tsintsibala Dlamini where he was asked to explain why the police were not investigating the cases, however, he had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Mlungisi Makhanya, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) said as an organization, they were not surprised by the exclusion of the cases adding that they had always known that these attacks on their political leaders who were critical of the regime were engineered by the State.
“We are not surprised that the cases of the attacks on our leaders properties are not on that list because we are aware that the attacks were engineered by the State and its agents”, he said.
The PUDEMO President urged the political leaders to remain strong adding that in a democratic Government, these cases would be investigated and the pro-democracy leaders would be compensated.
