MBABANE: A mini-truck belonging to pro-democracy Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman Ngomyayona Gamedze was on Sunday morning petrol bombed allegedly, by unknown people.
This comes a few weeks after this publication reported that Gamedze’s Mercedes Benz was burnt, the police allegedly sabotaged an investigation into the matter.
Reached for comments, the former Senate Deputy President confirmed the petrol bombing of his mini-truck adding that it was attacked while in Manzini.
But Gamedze made it clear that he would continue calling for democracy in the midst of the ongoing attacks on his properties.
“I took a personal decision to fight for democracy and this will not stop me. You see, as a man, you must be strong, once you take a decision, you must die while standing by that decision”, said the former Senate Deputy President.
Police Spokesperson Phindile Vilakati had not responded at the time of compiling this report.
Reached for comments, Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network(SSN) encouraged Gamedze to be strong.
“We want to encourage Gamedze to be strong and never give-up. Swazis must understand that the King has unleashed his security forces on the people but the people must remain strong against oppression,” said the Solidarity Network Spokesperson.
