PRETORIA:Pieter Louw of the NetCare hospital says they are restricted by the law from revealing information about their patients.
Responding to an email from this Swaziland News regarding the alleged admission of King Mswati’s mother Queen Ntombi Tfwala within the hospital,Louw said they were restricted by the provisions of the Protection of Personal Information Act from sharing patients information.
“Dear Zweli.Thanks for your mail regarding information relating to patients admitted in our Hospital.Unfortunately, due to the POPI act we are governed not to disclose any private information of any of our patients receiving medical treatment in our hospital,” reads a response from the hospital.
Documents including immigration records suggest that the Queen crossed the border on the 15th May 2022 for medical treatment at the NetCare Hospital.
Members of her security team are currently on duty outside the hospital providing her with security.
Welcome Mdluli, the President of the Swaziland Democratic Nurses Union Union(SWADNU) told this Swaziland News earlier that authorities of the country crossed the boarder for medical treatment in South Africa and other countries because they destroyed the health system in eSwatini.
