It is very disturbing to note that soldiers and police officers torture and kill civilians but continue to feel safe in this country, this promotes a culture of impunity.
Indeed, something must be done to discourage the ongoing killing of civilians by the army and the police, in a country with a fair justice system, the soldiers who tortured Students President Colani Maseko could be facing kidnapping and attempted murder charges by now.
The law was established to, among others, promote peace, stability by regulating human conduct, however, citizens are killed in this country by Mswati’s soldiers and the law enforcement agency ignores this criminal act in protection of the Commander-in Chief who is above the law.
In this regard, the law is now manipulated to fight those calling for democratic reforms while those who continue to kill civilians are protected.
The power is now upon the people to ensure that the soldiers who tortured Students President Colani Maseko felt safe inside prison, they remain a danger to the society.
