MBABANE:Senior Superintendent Sikhumbuzo Fakudze and other two senior police officers in King Mswati’s assassination squad have been systematically promoted following the resignation of senior cop Khulani Mamba.

According to a leaked memo in possession of this Swaziland News, the other two officers include Assistant Superintendent Derrick Makhanya and Assistant Superintendent Jabulani Madlopha, all the officers are members of the Tingculungculu Investigation Unit that tortured political activists.

”The following postings and transfers are announced for immediate implementation. The affected Regional Commissioners are to liaise with Staff Officer Traffic and Transport over transportation”, reads the memo in part released on 08 June 2022.

Senior Superintendent Sikhumbuzo Fakudze has been systematically promoted from being Hhohho Regional Crime Branch Officer(RCBO) to Hhohho Regional Operations Officer(ROO)while Jabulani Madlopha who was seen in pictures shooting teachers at the SNAT Centre was promoted from being Officer-in-Charge of Lukhozi to Hhohho Regional Crime Branch Officer(RCBO).

Assistant Superintendent Derrick Makhanya who was allegedly busted by soldiers smuggling dagga while working in Nhlangano has been promoted from being Mbabane Desk Officer to Hhohho Officer-in Charge of Lukhozi.

Questions including the memo were sent to Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson, however, she had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

Reached for comments, Lucky Lukhele, the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network(SSN)said some of these promoted police officers were known by the citizens particularly the pro-democracy movement as killers.

“We are happy that the people of Swaziland are no longer giving the second cheek when you hit the other one, they are now hitting back which was long overdue. So these police officers, the sooner they realize that their duty is to serve the Nation, the better”, said the Spokesperson of the Swaziland Solidarity Network(SSN).

The promotion of the police officers comes after senior cop Khulani Mamba resigned amid persecution by other senior officers within the Police Headquarters.
