MBABANE:Students here at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) have clashed with the Management on Friday over a voting system to elect a new Students Representative Council(SRC).
The Management is proposing an online voting system which the students believe is unworkable on grounds that it could be easily hacked.
Speaking to this Swaziland News, Ester Moyo, one of the SRC nominees said they were totally against the online voting system.
"We had asked the Management to allow the students to vote physically in order to achieve fair results and to avoid a situation whereby nominees could vote for themselves through the online system”, she said.
Reached for comments, Thobile Gumede, the Limkokwing University Director said the online voting would be more convenient even for the students who were not on campus.
"We as the Management decided to meet with the students and listen to their views on convenient ways of voting. Some have suggested that voting should take place today (Friday)and some felt the voting should be postponed since currently there are a few students on campus,we are still waiting for a feedback from the students on their final decision", said the LUCT Director.
