MBABANE: Sakhile ‘Awuviva’ Nxumalo, the President of the People’s United Democratic Movement(PUDEMO) Youth League,SWAYOCO has ordered all businesses in the country to shutdown and observe the June 29 ‘holiday’.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday, the President of the Swaziland Youth Congress (SWAYOCO) advised Swazis who valued their properties not to dare operate on Wednesday during the massacre holiday.
“We maintain that tomorrow(Wednesday) is a holiday and we don’t expect businesses to operate. Anyone who values his business or property must avoid operating tomorrow,” said the PUDEMO Youth Leauge President.
Reached for comments,Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo said 29th June was not a public holiday adding that holidays were gazetted by the Government.
“Tomorrow is not a holiday in the kingdom of Eswatini.Holidays are gazetted first by the incumbent Government, and announced accordingly.They are not designated by any other entity in society,” said the Government Spokesperson.
Political tension is escalating in this tiny Kingdom of eSwatini as calls for democratic reforms intensify.
