MBABANE: Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the eSwatini Police Spokesperson has urged members of the public to surrender illegal guns to the State as political temperatures continue to rise in this tiny Kingdom.
The Spokesperson assured those who would surrender the guns that they won’t be arrested.
“Those who will surrender the guns won’t be arrested. We would like to urge members of the public to assist us if they know anyone in possession of an illegal firearm to report to us as the police,” said the Police Spokesperson when addressing the public on Friday.
Reached for comments, the female Commander of the Underground Forces laughed-off the request by the police and urged members of the public to assist them as ground forces, get more guns.
“Actually, we need more guns, we managed to get a few AK-47s and we need more. Police are using guns to kill us and we will drop the guns once they do the same,”said the female Commander of the Underground Forces.
Eswatini is in the midst of a political crisis after King Mswati unleashed soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
This resulted to the establishment of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF) that defends civilians from Mswati’s forces.
