MBABANE: The Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF)has warned members of the public to avoid attending events where police officers who remained legitimate targets would be present.

Speaking to this Swaziland News on Wednesday, the SISF Spokesperson said after King Mswati refused to appear before the Southern African Development Community(SADC), they resolved to intensify the shooting of police officers.

“We want to make it clear that we are shooting police officers because they are killing civilians in protection of the person who is our main target. Mswati refused to appear before SADC and he will use police officers against the people. We urge members of the public to, for their own safety, avoid events like the Biggest Braai where police officers would be present,” said the Solidarity Forces Spokesperson.

The SISF is currently conducting operations targeting police officers who allegedly shoot and killed dozens of protesting civilians in the midst of the political unrest

On another note,Government Spokesperson Alpheous Nxumalo denied that King Mswati or Government snubbed the SADC Summit.

In a public statement released on Wednesday, Nxumalo said a delegation attended the Summit but was later informed that the Summit had been cancelled.

“On the afternoon on 19 July 2022, a delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini that was attending a preceding SADC Meeting, the 24th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defense and Security Coorperation at the DIRCO in Pretoria was verbally advised by the SADC Secretariat that a decision had been taken to cancel the Summit and official correspondence was to follow thereafter,” said the Government Spokesperson in a public statement.
