New Siphofaneni MP LaZwide to be sworn-in on Thursday, MPs want TasePhalamende back.

LOBAMBA: Nomalungelo Simelane, the newly elected Siphofaneni Member of Parliament(MP) will be sworn-in on Thursday.

This is contained in an Order Paper released by the office of the Clerk to Parliament Benedict Xaba on Wednesday afternoon, the Order Paper indicated that a new member would be sworn-in.

MP Nomalungelo Simelane(LaZwide) is the only new member who has joined the House of Assembly.

The order paper further suggests that MP Sandla Fakudze is expected to move a motion calling upon the Minister of Information, Communication and Technology(ICT) to consider ensuring that TasePhalamende programme was reinstated in the public media houses.

“To move that the Hon. Minister for Information, Communication and Technology should consider ensuring that the programme “Tasephalamende” is reinstated in all the public media Houses, and that Parliamentarians have equitable access to the public media when on Parliamentary and/or constituency duties.  Furthermore, the Hon. Minister should ensure that the public media reports fairly and accurately. Consequently, on passing of this Motion, the Hon. Minister should give a progress report on a quarterly basis,” reads the order paper in part.
