MBABANE: Senate President Lindiwe Gwebu-Dlamini has urged Prime Minister Cleopas Dlamini to facilitate the process of arresting political activists who incite public violence.
Eswatini is ruled by King Mswati as an absolute Monarch with Executive, Judicial and Legislative powers, political parties are banned from participating in elections.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, the appointed Senate President asked the Prime Minister what was preventing the arrest of the people who incite violence in the country.
“What is preventing the arrest of these people who are inciting violence in the country because they are known,” said the Senate President.
The political tension escalated in this tiny Kingdom of eSwatini after King Mswati unleashed his soldiers and the police to shoot and kill dozens of civilians merely for demanding democratic reforms.
The violence perpetrated by Mswati’s forces resulted to the establishment of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF), an Underground Unit targeting security officers in defense of civilians.
