NGCULWINI: Musa Nkambule, the Chairman of the Sive Siyinqaba National Movement was, on Tuesday morning , raided by a battalion of King Mswati’s police and soldiers who were searching for members of the Swaziland International Solidarity Forces(SISF).

This comes after the SISF allegedly killed  police officer Thulani Mthembu on Friday evening. 

In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News on Tuesday, Ngomyayona Gamedze, the Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairperson confirmed the raiding of Nkambule’s home.

“The Sive Siyinqaba National Movement condemns in the most strongest terms the harassment and victimisation of its Chairman Musa Nkhambule by the royal police and the army, this Tuesday morning. The joint operation invaded the family’s privacy without any search warrant, leaving the inside of every house in the homestead upside down.

We are left to assume that, in the absence of high intelligence systems in the forces, members of the neighbourhood where death has occurred become the prime suspects. That’s the uncivilised African method of witch-hunt which has no place in the civilised world. It is unfortunate that, these days the security forces are running in circles, helter- skelter, and the citizens that they took an oath to protect, have become the hunted.

At Sive Siyinqaba we will continue to condemn violence, whilst we advocate for a political solution, through peaceful means, to the internal conflict currently engulfing the country,” reads the statement in part.

Superintendent Phindile Vilakati, the Police Spokesperson had not responded at the time of compiling this report.

The Acting Chairman further mentioned that police and the army were not a solution to the political challenges facing the country adding their involvement is a sign of anarchy perpetuation and the exacerbation of the political crisis. 

“We remain hopeful that sanity will prevail before many more lives are lost or crippled,” reads the statement in part.
