Eswatini DPP links editor with Solidarity Forces, two charged with terrorism.

MBABANE: Swaziland News editor Zweli Martin Dlamini has been linked to terrorism activities by the Director of Public Prosecution(DPP). 

This is contained in an indictment where Simanga Sigwili Vilakati and Thandokuhle Galimese Dlamini are facing charges in terms of the Supression of Terrorism Act.

“Were either members, and/or associates, and/or acted in furtherance of Swaziland International Solidarity Force, an entity that has as one of its activities and purposes, the committing of, or the facilitation of the commission of, a terrorist act’s; and/or expressly or impliedly, acted and/or actively associated themselves,  

either individually or jointly with Zweli Martin Dlamini, and/or, his so-called undercover movements, and/or its members in order to achieve the unlawful purpose/objectives/results expressed in his aforementioned statement,” reads part of the indictment prepared by Sandile Dlamini, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecution.

The indictment also contains part of a transcript of Dlamini’s statement where the State accuses him of influencing the burning of structures and or perpetrating violence.

“My fellow Swatis, as things stand with this much unrest in the country the regime has come up with a strategy, claiming to initiate dialogue, and this fellow Swatis, was done with the hope of claiming the Swazi nation through making the people believe that some serious dialogue was going to take place, but in reality, the regime is busy preparing for war…We are one million, eh, the police and everyone else who support Mswati are few in numbers compared to us…My fellow Swatis, there cannot be mediation without a fight, for mediation to take place there must have been a fight…”, reads part of the transcript of the statements allegedly uttered by the editor that forms part of the indictment.
