MBABANE: Lizzie Nkosi, the Minister of Health has received digital working equipment, visibility material and medical supplies worth R4.7million from the World Health Organisation(WHO).
According to a Government online report, the equipment includes laptops, desktops, gazebos and medicine.
“It is our frontline workers, in particular, who have assumed the crucial role of ensuring the safety of our communities and citizens. We are therefore extremely grateful for this donation, which will facilitate ease when providing service to the people,” said the Minister as quoted by Government online platforms.
On another Dr Cornelia Atsyor, the WHO Representive said the items were meant to support the country not only in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in building capacity for preparedness in handling other epidemics and medical emergencies.
“I sincerely hope that the equipment, consumables and medical supplies will be utilised effectively and contribute towards improving the health of emaSwati,” said the WHO Representative when delivering the donation to the Minister on Tuesday.
