MBABANE: Ngomyayona Gamedze, the Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman says South African based pro-democracy MPs lawyer Sicelo Mngomezulu does not qualify to be declared a prohibited immigrant because he is a bona fide(real) citizen of this country.
Princess Lindiwe, the Minister of Home Affairs issued a gazette on Thursday banning the lawyer for the incarcerated pro-democracy MPs Bacede Mabuza and Mthandeni Dube from entering the country after allegedly calling for the boycott of the Umhlanga ceremony.
In a public statement sent to this Swaziland News, the Sive Siyinqaba Acting Chairman said the lawyer was born and bred in this country and therefore he is a legitimate citizen whose only crime was to offer a bull to be slaughtered by those girls who wouldn't be attending the Umhlanga Reed Dance.
“The regime's frustration emanates from the brilliant and excellent work Mr Mngomezulu does in the overall coordination of the political court case of the incarcerated Members of Parliament. Crippling the case is the main motive in declaring him a prohibited immigrant, because up until now, none of the State witnesses have directly implicated the MPs as per the charges crafted by the DPP,”reads the statement in part.
The Chairman further warned that the South African Government could easily ban some of the country's leaders who have blood in their hands.
“South Africa could easily do the same to some of our leaders who stand accused of a wide range of criminal activities, but who because of their positions in this country cannot be tested in a court of law.South African laws are not tolerant to such gross inhuman conduct and suffice to say such people justifiably deserve to be declared prohibited immigrants in that country,”he said .
